１. おいでん祭を開催
Toyokawa Citizen Festival “Oidensai” is held

The 34th Toyokawa Citizen Festival “Oidensai” is held on May 24 (Sat.) and 25 (Sun.) in the area around Kawashin Victory Stadium (Toyokawa Park Baseball Stadium). There are plenty of events such as eating corner with food trucks, working vehicles etc. which can be enjoyed by children and adults. In addition, Kawashin Victory Stadium as major venue, Yosakoi dance teams and other dance teams perform their dancing. 2. 豊川市まちなか居住補助金
Residence subsidy in Toyokawa (Machinaka Kyoju Hojokin)

Eligibility:
Person who purchased a house in the area designated by Toyokawa city and had lived in other municipalities for 5 consecutive years or more before moving in Toyokawa city, or person who owned a house in the foreseen disaster area in Toyokawa city and lived there before moving out of the house
Content of the subsidy:
1) Sum which is equivalent to that of real estate tax (For 3 years after purchasing the eligible house)
2) 100,000-yen subsidy (Only once) for eligible household’s respective person of junior high school age or younger
Application:
By February 27 (Fri.) 2026 (Postmark on this date is valid.). Bring application form directly or by postal mail to Urban Development Division (North Bldg. 3F). Application form is available at Urban Development Division (It can be downloaded from city website.).

3．児童扶養手当を支払います
Child Rearing Allowance, Jido Fuyo Teate will be paid

On May 9 (Fri.), May payment quota (March to April) will be transferred to the designated financial institution account. The payment is NOT notified individually. Please check it with your bankbook etc.

4．水道の基本料金の4カ月間減免
Water service basic charge is reduced for 4 months

To support citizens and business operators facing rising prices of things, water service basic charge is reduced.

Eligibility:
Household/Business operator (Excluding public facilities) using city water service
Eligible period:
Water service which is used from May to August
Implementation method:
Basic charge is deducted from the water service fee of the eligible period. Taking procedures for reduction is not necessary.

5．「こども誰でも通園制度」を試行的に実施
Trial implementation of “system of every child attending nursery school”

For child not attending nursery school etc., childcare up to 10 hours per month (Up to 2 hours per visit) at nursery school is implemented regardless of guardian’s employment condition.

Shimonagayama Hoiku-en, Mito Hokubu Hoiku-en
Eligibility:
Child aged 6 months-2 years living in Toyokawa who is not using nursery school, kindergarten, certified Kodomo-en, or local-based childcare establishment etc.

6．粗大ごみの戸別収集
Collection of bulky garbage in front of the house

For those who cannot bring in bulky garbage to Large Trash Drop-off Site, collection of bulky garbage in front of the house is implemented (Charged).

Fee:
1,050 yen per garbage (There are exceptions. About eligible items for Home Appliance Recycling Law, 2,100 yen per item and home appliance recycle ticket are necessary.)

1) Apply to Large Trash Drop-off Site (Sodaigomi Uketsuke Center) by phone or FAX (0533-89-2174).
2) Following the instructions, buy a bulky garbage sticker and stick it on the bulky garbage (Bulky garbage stickers are available at Waste Management Division [North Bldg. 2F], respective branch offices, and Prio Service Centerer etc.)
3) Put the bulky garbage in front of the house entrance (On the residential site by the road. In case of apartment etc., put it on the 1st floor) by 8:30 am on the collection day.

7. 夏の献血2025
Blood donation in summer 2025

Date and Hour:
June 8 (Sun.), from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (To be canceled in case of stormy weather)

Eligibility:
Person aged 16-69 (For person aged 65 or older, only those who did blood donation after 60 years old)

8. 清掃の日にご協力を
Cooperate for the Cleaning Day

Toyokawa city conducts the Cleaning Day, called "Toyokawa Shi Seiso no Hi", twice a year to enhance people's awareness of prevention of littering etc. and promote clean environment. May 18 (Sun.) will be the first cleaning day. On this occasion, please cooperate for the cleaning activities in the places such as your residential area.

9. 光化学スモッグにご注意ください
Caution!!! Photochemical Smog

Photochemical smog is more likely to occur on the day with higher temperature, less wind, and plenty of sunshine. When forecast of photochemical smog is announced, it will be transmitted through Toyokawa City Disaster Prevention App (Toyokawa Shi Bosai Apuri) and city website etc. In this case, stop outdoor activities such as hard exercise, go inside and close the windows judging from wind direction.

10. 全国一斉情報伝達試験
Nationwide emergency information transmission drill

When:
Wednesday, May 28, around 11:00 am.

Test broadcasting will be announced using outdoor speakers and home receivers.
It is also distributed to Toyokawa City Disaster Prevention App (Toyokawa Shi Bosai Apuri).

11. 地域巡回健診（春健診）
Regional Physical Checkup (Spring Term)

Date・Venue:
Please see city website or contact Health Center.
Eligibility:
Person born between April 1, 1986 and April 1, 2010 who does not have a chance of medical checkup at school or workplace etc./ Insured person of the National Health Insurance or the Late-stage Medical Care System for the Elderly who has a medical coupon / Person whose household is on welfare
Content:
Medical consultation, blood pressure/physical examination (Measuring height and weight), urine/blood examination, tuberculosis/lung cancer screening (Thoracic X-ray examination. Sputum examination [phlegm test] may be conducted as needed.)
Fee:
Free of charge. However, in case of taking the same examination in the fiscal year again, the person may be requested to pay the whole expense.
Capacity:
75 persons in the morning, 60 persons in the afternoon (65 persons for Health Center, Mito Fukushi Hoken Center, Kozakai Kifukan, and Ikamaikan). First come, first served for respective occasions.
Application:
Reservation in advance is necessary. Please make a reservation using any of the following ways.
1) From 8:30 am May 28 (Wed.), on the website
2) From June 3 (Tue.), by phone to special number for reservation (0570-058-121). In case of total applications of 1) and 2) reaching respective capacity, application acceptance ends.
Others:
Taking only tuberculosis/lung cancer screening is not available.
