We, the Kasugai Wind Orchestra, were founded in 1987 by the voluntary efforts of the leaders of the city's junior high school wind bands, with the ideal of "further developing the wind music scene in Kasugai City". Since then, the group has gradually expanded the scope of its activities, centering on the biannual regular concerts held at the Kasugai Civic Hall and other musical activities rooted in the local community, mainly by former members of the city's brass band clubs.
In 1998, the group moved its subscription concerts to the Aichi Arts Center in response to the expansion of its membership and audience both in and outside of the city, as well as the 10th anniversary of the founding of the group. In 1998, the band also participated in the All Japan Band Competition and won the Gold Prize at the National Competition held at Biwako Hall.
Currently, with Mr. Masaaki Kirita as our conductor, we are working to become a more fulfilling cultural organization by giving regular concerts, various events and concerts in Kasugai City, and opportunities to perform at Hinago Kindergarten, where we practice, such as field day and Christmas concerts.
・ Activities
Currently, our main activities are the regular concert twice a year, brass band competitions, ensemble contests, and commissioned performances.
・ Practice Time and Date
Every Friday 18:00 ~ 21:00
*We practice on weekends before concerts and competitions. Please check the practice schedule for details.
