愛知県陶磁美術館

愛知県陶磁資料館は、陶磁史上における愛知の位置に鑑み、日本における最大級の窯業地である愛知県瀬戸市に、愛知県政100年記念事業として1978(昭和53)年6月1日に開館しました。

The museum has a permanent exhibition hall that introduces the history of Japanese ceramics from the Jomon period to the present, foreign ceramics, contemporary ceramics, and old kiln ceramics from all over Japan, as well as exhibition halls that present special exhibitions on a variety of themes.
The museum also has an auditorium, a video corner, an explanation room, a library ( with a collection of about 40 , 000 books ), a restaurant "Toji" and a museum shop.

Reopened on February 27, 2016 as a permanent exhibition "More to Tell, Yakimono of Aichi".
On the 1st floor, "Aichi's Pottery Now" will be held. Under the keywords of "town, people, and pottery," the exhibition conveys the charm of Aichi's pottery to the next generation of pottery makers and users, as well as to the children who will carry the future.
Also, 10,000 Years of Aichi Pottery will be held on the second floor. The history of pottery in Aichi Prefecture from the Jomon Period to the Meiji Period will be introduced.

There are always about 100 ceramic and porcelain koma-inu ( designated as Tangible Folk Cultural Property of Aichi Prefecture ) on display, which were dedicated to shrines and other places where people entrusted their wishes and were placed in front of shrines ( and temples ) as guardian animals.
They were especially popular during the Edo period. It is a local cultural asset full of charm.

Under the gentle guidance of a pottery instructor, you can experience "making pottery" or "painting pottery" without a reservation. Everyone from small children to the elderly can enjoy the experience.
Groups are welcome (reservation required), and events such as pottery classes are also held.

This tearoom offers traditional Japanese beauty and a relaxing and tranquil atmosphere.
In addition to tea ceremony in the standing tea room, two tea rooms of 8 and 4.5 square meters can be used for tea ceremonies.
In addition, we have a selection of tea bowls made by ceramic artists from Seto ・ Mino ・ and Tokoname , which are changed monthly, so you can choose your favorite bowls.
Old Kiln Hall]
Exhibits kilns excavated from the site, dating from the Heian - Kamakura period ( 12th-13th century ).
Restored Old Kilns]
Large kilns from the Muromachi period ( 16th century ) and climbing kilns from the Edo period ( 19th century ) used in Seto and Mino are restored and introduced.
The Aichi Prefectural Museum of Ceramic Art has three exhibition halls, a ceramics hall where even beginners can experience pottery making, a tea ceremony room, a restaurant, and a museum store, allowing visitors to see ・ and make pottery ・ all day long.
